DIY - cloche

I am in love with all the cloche's around blog land and pinterest....but I am not in love with the price tags when I find them at estate sales and antique festivals..........I have seen a few crafty sites making their own from cheese plates and candle sticks....just so happens I had a cheese plate from salvation army & chunky candlestick that would be perfect!  I have had these for months now and the plan in my head but thanks to my sister for getting my butt in gear with the project by sending this yesterday !

Used my handy E6000 glue, I swear there is nothing this stuff cannot hold together! Quick coat of cream spray paint & voila!

Just in time for my Fall mantle....still working on it but this looks super nice up there!

Super Hero Cape for my super nephew!

My nephew is turning 5 next week!  I made a cute super girly custom birthday gift for my niece here, for her birthday so I could not leave out my nephew for his!  He is 100% boy, monster trucks and football all the way!  He has a great imagination and so I had seen capes all over blogland and my sister Paula has even made capes for both my girls.

I found a tutorial on one of my most favorite blogs and was determined to rock it for Brock! I was going to add some stars or something with a patterned material but Dave kept telling me "he's a boy! Keep it simple, don't get all frilly with it" So, its just red & blue with a big B for Super Brock!

I tried to get Uncle Dave to try it on for a photo but Mr. No Fun would not do it, knowing it would be posted for the entire Internet to see intimidated him I guess!?!

Just put it in the mail to him today! I hope he loves his cape and has countless adventures in it!

Get Well Gabby!

There is this little blond haired blue eyed girl...a sweet, precious, special, little 5 year old girl named Gabriella Vogel.   You can find her story here!

Instead of heading off to kindergarten she is battling a brain tumor.  While I do not know Gabby, or her family personally her story has touched my heart.  As a mom I cannot fathom what this family is going through right now.  I am helping to sponsor a fundraiser for the Vogel Family,  if you are local in the CNY area please spread the word!

The event can be found here

1st day of 2nd grade!

Back to school today!  Savannah is officially a second grader!

She picked her entire outfit {& this is TAME considering where she started from!} all the way down to the rainbow socks & twinkle toe skechers! She is excited this year which is leaps and bounds from where we started 2 years ago with kindergarten!

Sent her off this morning with one of these cute lunch box notes inside her brand new Littlest Pet Shop lunchbox and new puppy backpack stuffed right full of supplies!

Daddy & his girls on a rainy 1st day of school!

We made this little treat for her teacher to wish her luck with her new group of 2nd graders!

Here is to a good year with a new teacher, new friends to make & lots to learn!

Lots of outdoor play time

finished off with smores!

We had a great summer and are all ready for Fall {hopefully a nice long Fall} not for what inevitably comes after, but we are ready for cooler weather, apples, pumpkins, and jumping in leaves...

Locks of Love!

So proud of my girl!  Savannah has already donated her hair once to Locks of Love..just before kindergarten we got her very first haircut EVER!  We took off 15" and donated the ponytail to Locks of Love.  Since then she has only had 1 trim and waited to grow it long enough again and the day finally arrived!

Back to school next week so it was the perfect time for a haircut!  We donated 10" this time and I am just so proud of her wanting to do something so amazing for some little girl out there who really needs this gift!

She is already saying she plans to do it again in another 2 years!

Shout out for Miracles Hair Studio in Fayetteville. This salon is amazing and Little Miracles is the only place Savannah has ever gone for haircuts, the staff is awesome and super sweet with kids! Not to mention the girls get "princess sparkles" in their new haircut!
